About me

I became a registered nurse in 2008 and a specialist nurse in pediatrics in 2010. Since then, I have gained extensive clinical experience in the care of children and adolescents, primarily in pediatric emergency care at Crown Princess Victoria Children’s Hospital in Linköping, and more recently at the Pediatric Allergy Clinic, Linköping University Hospital.

I obtained my PhD in 2017 and was appointed Associate Professor (Docent) in Nursing, specializing in the nursing care of children and young adults, at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Linköping University, in 2022. In 2026, I joined the Swedish Red Cross University as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing.

Research profile

My research focuses primarily on child- and family-centered nursing and factors influencing quality of life in families living with long-term health conditions. I am particularly interested in how illness and healthcare affect everyday life, participation, sleep, stress, and quality of life for both children and their families, as well as how nursing care can be developed to better meet their needs. My research places the child and their broader context at the center, rather than the diagnosis.

I have experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as in the development and validation of measurement instruments. One of my ongoing research projects is POCOKIDS, a multidisciplinary project in which we study children and adolescents with long COVID/post-COVID condition from a biopsychosocial perspective.

My role as a researcher has also included supervision of doctoral students and Master’s-level theses, as well as strategic work to support research development in clinical practice.
