About me

I am a registered nurse who graduated from The Swedish Red Cross University (RKH) many years ago. My clinical background is primarily in emergency care, where I delved into issues related to disasters and preparedness. I became so interested, fascinated and concerned that this interest resulted in my doctoral thesis in disaster medical preparedness in 2022.

Teaching

I teach globalization and health. I am also the program manager for the specialist program in infectious diseases.

External assignments

In addition to my assignments at RKH, I am a lecturer and researcher at the Knowledge Center in Disaster Medicine (KcKM) at Umeå University and am part of the Swedish Agency for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness (MSB) pool of healthcare personnel for international assignments.

Research profile

My research has focused on disaster medical response, preparedness and competence with a focus on local special health management (LSSL) and nurses working in emergency departments. We are currently mapping risks that can be linked to Sweden's investment in sustainable energy and healthcare preparedness for it.
