We are looking for persons with lived experience as a forced LGBTQ+ migrant, who want to collaborate with us in research

We strongly believe that researchers need to work together with persons from the community. Thus, we want to enlist the help of people with a personal background of being a forced migrant and who identify as having a diverse gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation. For example, those identiying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, non-binary, or any other way that is not heterosexual and cisgender (LGBTQ+).

In this research project, we employ representatives with this background, who become members of our board and collaborate with us. We offer members of the board salaries for their work. The scope of the position can be discussed, to suit your preferences. Most members will work one or two days a week in the project.

Analyze interviews together with us

We work together with contributors when we analyze interviews. This is called co-production of qualitative analysis.

We do this to identify relevant findings and approach the data from their perspectives.

Help us understand how we can find and ask people to participate in our studies

It is important that research is successful in finding people who are interested in participating in studies. Finding appropriate ways to reach potential participants is cruical in research. We work together with our contributors to identify suitable recruitment strategies.

Our collaborators also scrutinize our letters of invitation, so that they are written appropriately.

Identify relevant questions and topics to cover in interviews with study participants

In research, there is always a risk of focusing on irrelevant topics. We want to identify research questions grounded in lived experiences.

For example, we want to find out more about the potential struggles experienced after arriving in Sweden and how the society can support them accordingly.

Do you have experience of coming to Sweden and identify as LGBTQ+?
Do you want to help improve the support for LGBTQ+ migrants?
Are you interested in research and want to influence future studies?
Are you looking for work opportunities?
