Planning and development of a support intervention

Here is some practical information about the workshops in which we collaborate with the target audience to plan future research offering support for LGBTQ+ forced migrants in Sweden.

We will begin all workshop sessions with a lunch which we will pay for (30 minutes, between 12:00 and 12:30 hrs). Refreshments will be served during the sessions.

Who are responsible for the workshops?

The workshops will be conducted together with health professionals and researchers, all with genuine interest in understanding how support for LGBTQ+ forced migrants can be improved. All involved in the workshops work under condifentiality and only people who work in the project attend the sessions.

Calle Brunell

Calle is a licensed psychologist with clinical experience of supporting LGBTQ+ forced migrants. Calle has worked in trauma care as well as in sexual and reproductive health services. Calle has experience of both individual and group therapy.

Rogers Kissiti

Rogers is a psychologist from Africa, with experience of working in a mental health project providing peer support for LGBTQ+ forced migrants. Rogers has personal experience of coming to Sweden as a refugee. Rogers has experience of volontary work in LGBTQ+ organizations.

Maria Gottvall

Maria is a researcher in this research project, working in all parts of the project. By profession, Maria is a nurse and a midwife. Maria is a senior lecturer at the Swedish Red Cross university.

Tommy Carlsson

Tommy is the principal investigator responsible for this research project. By profession, Tommy is an intensive care nurse and a midwife. Tommy is an associate professor at the Swedish Red Cross university.
