Simulation Pedagogy in Learning Ethics in Practice in Health Care – SimE
SimE is financed by the European Union Regional Development Found – Interreg Central Baltic. It is a collaboration between Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland, Riga Medical University, Latvia and The Swedish Red Cross University College.
SimE focuses on ethics in healthcare and the overall aim of SimE is to improve nursing students’ ethical competence.
The goal is to provide a harmonized education level in the Baltic region and a higher and broader competence level of nurses working in these countries. Improved ethical skills serve the needs of future healthcare providers, promote the mobility of the workforce and increase the quality of patient care.
The target groups are nursing students and healthcare workers. The project has resulted in three courses about ethics in health care which are free of access in EU. There are on-line materials, lectures and instruction movies. The project was running during 2017-2019.
