Physical activity and mental health among trauma afflicted refugees

The aim of the project is to explore experience of participating in physical activity as part of treatment for complex PTSD, to study the effect of physical activity on mental health and quality of life, and to assess and evaluate the efficacy of a brief multicomponent physical activity intervention on PTSD, emotional distress, and well-being, among trauma afflicted refugees. The study is conducted at The Swedish Red Cross Treatment Center for Persons Affected by War and Torture in Malmö, Sweden in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet.
