  1. Long experience and high quality

Since 1867, the Swedish Red Cross University educates the nurses of tomorrow with competence and readiness for global work. Our educational programmes are leading within their field. As a student, you will benefit from excellent training and opportunities to prepare you for your career as a nurse, locally and internationally.

  1. Educating nurses is our focus

The Swedish Red Cross University specialises in educating nurses and specialist nurses. This is our main focus. We have approximately 850 students, and each semester, 115 new students begin their nursing studies, and about 100 students start a master’s level specialist nursing programme.

  1. A global profile

We integrate local and global perspectives into all courses of education. And as part of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) – vulnerability, diversity, humanity and global perspectives are central to all of our work. These principles mean preventing and alleviating human suffering, protecting life and health and safeguarding respect for human dignity.

  1. Work-based learning and international collaborations

One-third of the education consists of clinical training. The purpose of clinical training is to acquire, apply and integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills. You can do some your clinical training as well as write your Bachelor’s thesis project in other countries. Our international collaborations, scholarships and programmes allow you to see how other countries and cultures work with nursing and healthcare.

  1. Modern premises with the latest technology

The Swedish Red Cross University is located in newly built premises in the Technology for Health building on Campus Flemingsberg in Stockholm, Sweden. This is an interdisciplinary campus with several colleges, a university hospital and a growing business cluster of future research. Lectures are held in modern classrooms with the latest technology. The education is structured with modern pedagogical methods, and we use a digital learning platform.
