“Assessment of nursing students in clinical practice - An intervention study of a modified process”
The aim of this study was to evaluate a modified assessment process centred on learning goals, assessment criteria and strategies for nursing students in clinical practice, and how this process was experienced by nursing students and their supervisors. The data collection consisted of a survey and follow-up group interviews. Participants were second-year nursing students and their supervisors. The overall conclusion of the study showed that learning goals, assessment criteria and strategies promoted student learning and assisted supervisors involvement and development during the assessment process. Furthermore, strategies need to be developed when university teachers take on a consultative role in the assessment process.
